Here are some of the Denver Nuggets’ most legendary players.

Alex English

Alex English is probably the most iconic player in Nuggets history. During the 1980s, he was one of the NBA’s top scorers. English won the league’s scoring title in the 1982-1983 season. He was selected to the All-Star Game eight times and was even inducted into the Hall of Fame.

David Thompson

David Thompson, nicknamed “Skywalker”, was known for his spectacular jumps and powerful dunks. He was selected to the All-Star Game four times and named to the All-NBA First Team twice. Thompson was also inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Dikembe Mutombo

Dikembe Mutombo is one of the greatest defenders and countermen in NBA history. He was a major part of the Nuggets in the early 1990s and was selected to the All-Star Game four times as a member of that franchise. Mutombo was also voted the NBA’s best defender four times during his career.

Dan Issel

Dan Issel is another Nuggets legend. He was both a player and a coach for the franchise. In addition, he has been selected to the All-Star Game six times and is the second-highest scorer in Denver Nuggets history. Issel has also been inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony was the star of the Denver Nuggets for much of the 2000s. He was selected to the All-Star Game four times as a member of the Nuggets. Moreover, “Melo” was the franchise’s leader when it reached the Western Conference Finals in 2009.

Fat Lever

Lafayette “Fat” Lever was a triple-double specialist during his time with the Nuggets. He was a two-time All-Star Game selection and was known for his versatility, contributing in almost every aspect of the game.

Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic is one of the Nuggets’ current stars. His versatile game and skills as a passer have quickly established him as one of the league’s best pivots. He won the NBA regular-season MVP award in 2022 and 2023.
