Michael Porter Jr. started out at Father Tolton Regional Catholic High School, Missouri. He then moved to Nathan Hale High School, Washington, for his senior year. Under the guidance of his father, Michael Porter Sr. and coach Brandon Roy, he shined. Porter led Nathan Hale to a state title with a perfect 29-0 record. He was named MVP of the McDonald’s All-American Game in 2017.

Varsity career (2017-2018)

Porter committed to the University of Missouri, playing briefly due to a back injury. Despite a shortened season, he declared for the 2018 NBA draft after his freshman year.

Denver Nuggets (2018-present)

Selected 14th in the 2018 draft by the Denver Nuggets, injuries delayed his debut. He made his NBA debut in 2019, quickly showing his talent. Porter signed a major contract extension in 2021. Despite a third back operation, he contributed to the Nuggets’ first NBA championship in 2023.
