Origins
Scoot Henderson is the son of Chris and Crystal Henderson. His father is a coach and trainer. His mother is an administrator in the healthcare sector. His parents run the Next Play 360° training center in Marietta, where they moved from Hempstead, New York shortly before Henderson was born. He is the penultimate of seven siblings, including three sisters who played NCAA Division I basketball.

High school career
Scoot Henderson made his mark at Carlton J. Kell High School in Marietta. As a freshman, he showed his talent. As a sophomore, he scored 49 points in a deciding game, setting a personal record. He led Kell to the state semifinals and was named Class 5A Player of the Year. As a junior, he broke program scoring records with 53 points in one game. He followed that up with a 32-point average, helping take Kell to the Class 6A state final. Considered one of the best point guards in the game, Henderson attracted attention as early as his freshman year of high school. He received offers from several colleges but chose to join the NBA G League Ignite, skipping his final year of high school.
Professional career
NBA G League Ignite (2021-2023)
Henderson signed with the Ignite, becoming the youngest player in G League history. He quickly distinguished himself with notable performances, including a 31-point game.
