Keyonte George was raised by his mom. Before playing basketball, he started out playing American soccer. His mother, Kristen George, is a product development manager at Caliber Home Loans. His grandfather was an American soccer player. Keyonte has a half-brother and half-sister.

Keyonte George got his start at Lewisville High School in Texas, where he impressed as a freshman. He was named his district’s Offensive Player of the Year. In his second year, he earned the title of district MVP. For his third year, he joined the iSchool of Lewisville, before finishing at IMG Academy in Florida. There, he maintained an average of 17.8 points per game and was the highest-rated recruit in IMG Academy history when he committed to Baylor University. George was recognized as a five-star recruit and one of the best players in his class. On August 8, 2021, he chose Baylor, preferring the offer over Texas, Texas Tech, Kansas and Kentucky.

NCAA

On January 11, 2023, George scored 32 points against West Virginia, contributing to Baylor’s victory. He was named Big 12 Rookie of the Year and included on the Second Team All-Big 12. With 506 points scored, he turned in the second-best performance in Baylor history for a freshman.

The Utah Jazz selected Keynote George with the sixteenth pick of the 2023 NBA draft. In his first regular-season game, he scored eight points against the Sacramento Kings. On December 2, he set a new personal best with 21 points against the Portland TrailBlazers. On December 12, 2023, he broke his record with 30 points against Oklahoma City. On February 4, 2024, George recorded his first career double-double.

In 3×3 basketball, George represented the USA at the FIBA 3×3 Under-18 World Championship in Hungary. He was named MVP of the tournament, leading his team to the gold medal.
