Jordan Hawkins is an American basketball player playing in the NBA at fullback. He was born on April 29, 2002 in Gaithersburg, Maryland (USA). His height is 1m96. He plays for the New Orleans Pelicans.


Jordan Hawkins is the son of Craig Hawkins and Jasmine Hawkins. He has three sisters: Alexis, Chynna and Paris. Hawkins’ cousin, Angel Reese, plays college basketball for the LSU Tigers women’s team.

High school

Jordan Hawkins grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland, beginning his career at Gaithersburg High School before transferring to DeMatha Catholic High School. As a senior, he was named Maryland’s Gatorade Player of the Year, averaging 19.7 points, 11.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.3 steals, and 1.9 turnovers per game. He committed to UConn, chosen from among several college offers.


Hawkins played 27 games as a freshman at UConn, averaging 5.8 points. He was named to the Big East Conference All-Freshman team. His sophomore season was marked by excellent performances, leading him to be named to the All-Big East first team. He was named West Regional Most Outstanding Player of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, contributing to UConn’s national victory. Shortly thereafter, Hawkins decided to enter the 2023 NBA draft.


The New Orleans Pelicans selected Hawkins with the fourteenth overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft. On January 13, 2024, he set a personal best with 34 points against the Dallas Mavericks.
