Jamal Cain attended the Academy for Business and Technology before transferring to Cornerstone Health and Technology. Considered the second-best player in Michigan, he was a finalist for the title of Mr. Basketball of Michigan.
NCAA
Cain played for Marquette, then transferred to Oakland University for his final year of eligibility. At Oakland, he impressed with averages of 19.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, becoming Horizon League Co-Player of the Year.
Professional career
Undrafted in 2022, Cain joined the Miami Heat for Summer League, then signed with the team. He made his NBA debut and played in the NBA Finals in 2023 with the Heat. On August 11, 2023, he signed a new contract with Miami.
