Food is an essential component in the career success of a professional basketball player. If he does not eat well and has a lifestyle not suited to high-level sport, his performance on the court will be affected and it will be more difficult to get a good contract. An unhealthy diet can, for example, facilitate the appearance of injuries, which for some of them can lead to the decay of an athlete career. When setting their foot on European territory, American basketball players will not necessarily find the same products and brands that they used to consume in the United States. In addition, in the event that the meals are not provided by the club, some not knowing not to cook or not having the will to make meal will thus initially choose the solution of facility, which is to go in restaurants and especially fast food. Imported straight from the United States, the McDonalds, Burger King and other Subway receive the favor of many American basketball players who will go to eat there more or less regularly after practices or on days off. Fortunately, this is not the case for the majority of players, who end up getting used to local products and developing better eating habits.
