After one year in Italy, playing for Trento and then Sassari, American swingman David Lighty (6’6’’, 28 years old) is back to France with Asvel Lyon-Villeurbanne, a team with which he won his second french championship in 2016 (Lighty won his first championship with Nanterre in 2013 and was named the finals MVP). The Ohio State’s alumni and former U19 Team USA member (he get the silver medal at the World Championship) signed a two-year contract. The last time that David played for Asvel (the french basketball superstar Tony Parker is the owner of the team), he was mainly used by the Canadian coach JD Jackson as a sixth man and was averaging 8.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
