Talented American guard Zavier Coston (6’3, 27 years old) is still looking for his first pro basketball contract overseas. At the end of this month, he will arrive in Spain for few weeks and pro placement. Check out his story and don”t hesitate to contact him for a tryout or anything else!

Can you introduce yourself?
Zavier Coston, man of God, of Panamanian and Jamaican descent, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. I’m 27 years old. I’m 6’3 and weigh 180 Pounds. My body is my temple and it’s designed to play the sport I love. My basketball IQ is high but continues to develop day by day through my determination and hard work.

When and how did you started playing basketball?
Basketball is my first love, we met when I was five. I had a wooden backboard with a rim nailed to it and use to always play in my backyard. It was my most comfortable space and still is. As time passed the game of basketball became a part of me.

You attended the Medgar Evers College (NCAA D3) from 2014 to 2016. How was the experience? What memories do you keep?
I had a great experience at school. The staff, my teammates, my coaches… they all created a environment that was satisfying to be around and grow.
The memories I personally keep are the string bonds and connections I created with my teammates. As captain of the team you have to learn how to truly connect and understand different personalities to adequately deal with certain emotions and situations that would arise. So the connection with each individual player was different but it was all for the same goal.

What did you do last season?
Last season I just dedicated my self to my craft and just lived in the gym.

What kind of opportunity are you now looking for?
I’m looking to play basketball professionally overseas, it’s time! I also aspire to start my brand called “IBelieveme”.

How can you describe your game? What are your main strengths on the court?
I’m an extremely dynamic player so there are many facets to my game. To best describe my game on the court I would have to say that I can do whatever the team needs of me. As a leader I can quickly read positioning and put down the best action for the greater team effort. I am more of a mid range shooter but can shoot the occasional three even under pressure. I attack the basket strong and one thing I really enjoy is setting up my teammates to score being the floor general.
My main strength on court are my mid range jump shot, passing and speed.

What is your daily training program in the States?
Well, my daily training program in states consists of working out earlier in the morning when I am most raw to set the tone and focus for my day. My regimen involves strength, conditioning and basketball drills. Then in the evening I focus more on basketball drills and intermittently during the week I make time to scrimmage and make sure I remain sharp.

Do you have a pro career plan?
Yes. I’m looking to play professional basketball for as long as I can condition my body to do so. I plan to be on the top roster of any league. I’ll be place in and collect eurocup/championship wins. All this, so long term I will be recognized as one of the best to play overseas professionally and leave my legacy my future children and all to see and know about.
