Martin Anderson’s Blog : “Hard Work Pays off”

Table of contents

American combo guard Martin Anderson (6’4) is currently playing his second professional season in Europe, he has spent both seasons in Spain, most recently with Club Basquet Valle de Egues in Pamplona. This past summer Martin played in numerous summer pro am’s in the United States (Seattle Pro Am, Desert Reign Pro City), and had the opportunity to work out for the NBA Development League Draft. What separates Martin is his work ethic, he is a gym rat, his off-season training includes him waking up at 3 am to workout and then again in the evening. He has been under the radar his entire career and is always using it as fuel to keep working and proving people wrong. This is his first blog post on 3ptshot.com.

“I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and that God has a different pat h for each of us, some of us might have some advantages that others don’t, or have connections that others don’t, but someone else’s situation has nothing to do with yourself and your goals, you have to do whatever it takes to get where you want to get, this is what i’ve been doing for the past two seasons. I am currently in Spain playing my second season overseas, these last two years have been full of alot of up’s but also alot of down’s. I’ve been told no a lot more times then i’ve been told yes, and that is what fuels me each day whether it be a workout, practice, or game. I’m always paranoid and always feel like I have something to prove. People don’t see the hours on hours that athletes put in the gym, and the amount of work that goes into their craft to be the player that they are today, they just see the game pictures, the instagram posts, etc. they don’t see the behind the scenes. I want to thank Allan and 3ptshot for this interview and being able to share some of my experiences. Spain is a beautiful country and i’ve been blessed to start my Professional career here”.
