American basketball player Kendall Godley signed his first pro contract in Italy last summer. There, he scored 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds during his first official game. We met him to learn more about this great guy.

3PTSHOT: Can you introduce yourself?
Kendall Godley: My name is Kendall Godley and I am a 23 year old Guard from Colorado Springs.

3PTSHOT: Then, you had an amazing progression each year between 2013 and 2016 with Colorado Springs (NCAA D2). How can you explain this great change?
Kendall Godley: My progression in college was mainly because I played behind an all American player at my school. It took me a while to earn my coaches trust but I continued to work on my game and stay positive and in the end I played well enough to earn the opportunity to continue playing after college.

3PTSHOT: You participated this year at the USA Basketball 3×3 Men’s National Tournament. How was the experience?
Kendall Godley: The USA 3×3 tournament was a really good experience for me. There was competition from all around the country and it gave me a chance to get used to playing with the international basketball. It also gave me a lot of confidence in myself moving forward.

3PTSHOT: You recently signed your first pro contract in Italy in Serie D. Why did you chose this team and country?
Kendall Godley: I chose this team because it offered me the opportunity to start my pro career while finishing my Masters Degree and living in a beautiful country.

3PTSHOT: Before signing, did you had any other offer ?
Kendall Godley: I had a couple other offers, one from a top level team in Slovenia and another from a second division team in Greece.

3PTSHOT: How were your first weeks in Salerno, your new team in Italy ?
Kendall Godley: My first couple weeks were definitely different…. Salerno is definitely very different than where I am from but having the sea and mountains nearby is pretty cool. Basketball here is a lot different than in the states. I think there is a lot I can learn from them and vice versa.

3PTSHOT: What do you expect from your first season overseas and your pro basketball career ?
Kendall Godley: From my first season I expect to continue putting up big numbers similar to that as I continue getting adjusted to the European style of play. I also plan on winning a lot of games this year. As for my pro career, I think that I can play for a long time at a high level and my goal is to do that.
